Golda Meir was the first and only woman to be elected Prime Minister of Israel. She also served as the Minister of Labor and the Foreign Minister, and has been called the “Iron Lady” of Israeli politics.
Golda Meir advocated for Israeli independence and was one of the 24 people (and one of only two women) who signed the Israeli Declaration of Independence in 1948. Known for her strong will and determination, Golda Meir dedicated her life to serve the Jewish state.
